FABRIC OVER FOAM GASKETS

As the inventor of the fabric over foam (FOF) technology, we have been a leader in EMI gaskets for over 30 years. A polyurethane core, wrapped in highly conductive fabric (metallized textile), provides excellent shielding and grounding capabilities. Our top-of-the-line coatings against galvanic corrosion complete this remarkable product.

“Shielding enclosures best” is our motto. The electronics industry is generally growing towards the use of fairly high electrical frequencies. Until recently, it was usually only high-tech, telecom and certain medical devices require shielding against high electromagnetic radiation. Today, we see the need for shielding in almost the entire spectrum of electronics.

DYNASHEAR GASKETS

The unique combination of 3 special features ensures a perfect solution for cardholder shielding. The bump on the underside of the gaskets ensures that even with low compression of the gasket there is still very good electrical contact. The extra soft foam padding can provide both very low and very high compression for voliodal contact pressure. The two pee strips provide excellent attachment.

DYNAGREEN GASKETS

SEM introduces DynaGreen™, the halogen-free version of its famous Dynashear™ EMI shield gaskets for card/cage applications that can offer superior properties over metal finger sticks and current dust-over-foam gaskets.

HIGH TEMPARATURE EMI-GASKETS

Schlegel electronic Materials (SEM), a respected leader in the EMI shielding industry, introduces Fabric over Silicone EMI gaskets (FoS) for high-temperature applications. High temperature FOS gaskets have been developed with a novel flame retardant formulation that provides EMI shielding gaskets with UL94-V0 grade (Underwriters Laboratories Inc.) and halogen-free per IEC 61249-2-21

CONDUCTIVE ELASTOMERS

Our line of silicone gaskets offers shielding capabilities in a variety of markets and applications, including military, aerospace, medical, liquid sealing, environmental, and microwave applications. Our silicone elastomers are specifically designed for gasket applications that require high damping levels of up to 120 db.

SEM is known for its high-quality EMI shielding gaskets. We offer a full range of products to meet a wide spectrum of shielding needs. Our silicone gaskets meet the needs of customers in different markets, with very competitive prices. Engineers can now fulfill all of their foreclosure needs from a single manufacturer, rather than having to go through multiple distributors or resellers.

Silicone, the base material for elastomers, has environmental sealing properties. Shielding is achieved by incorporating different media into the silicone, depending on the product. Wire is used to provide conductivity in the oriented silicone line, and a non-corrosive particle is added to the extruded parts. Because conductive elastomers can be extruded, many different profiles and lengths can be made for any application.

CONDUCTIVE FOAM

Conductive foam, a highly resilient nickel-copper polyurethane foam, is sandwiched between SEMs knit and non-woven fabrics to form industry-leading die-cut gaskets. Conductive foam material is ideal for applications that require compliance with excellent cavity-to-cavity EMI shielding, superior conductivity at low compressive forces, and better effectiveness at very high frequencies. CF foam-based gaskets are precision stamped with conductive or non-conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA).

FINGERSTOCK GASKETS

We offer a complete line of high-quality beryllium copper (BeCu) EMI gaskets. The addition of the BeCu gaskets to SEM’s extensive portfolio enables SEM to be your exclusive EMI shielding supplier, to help you meet or exceed your global electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements.

The mechanical spring characteristics of BeCu EMI gaskets offer superior shielding effectiveness. These gaskets offer consistent performance and deliver excellent electric spring contact in this industry.

SEM offers all popular standard styles and sizes of BeCu gaskets. The gaskets work in spaces from 0.010 inches to 0.500 inches. SEM also offers many types of soft gaskets that provide the low compression force needed in many applications. Custom spring contacts and gaskets are also available.

CONDUCTIVE TAPES

More flexibility, higher conductivity and easier installation.

Schlegel Electronics Materials’ (SEM) comprehensive line of conductive tapes meets the customer’s need for flexibility, higher conductivity and easier installation. They are available with conductive and non-conductive adhesives and in a wide range of widths.

Typical applications include cable guards and joining metal panels at the seams of an enclosure. Foil tapes are a cost-effective shielding solution for a wide range of applications. They can be particularly useful during the development and testing phases of projects to be used as “fixes” for EMI issues.

SEM’s masked conductive tapes are also available and can be used as a gasket substrate on painted or enamelled enclosures.

OUTDOOR EMI GASKETS

EMI Hybrid Gaskets. The EEH series combines the unique properties of an EMI/RF shield with an environmental (moisture, water, dust) shield at the same time. EEH gaskets are fabric over EPDM. An important cost-saving is possible because the use of two different gaskets next to each other can be replaced by one product. It saves construction space and because of the attachment by means of a clip on the sheet steel, the assembly is easy, very fast and therefore cheap.

Temperatures from minus 40°C to plus 100°C are no problem at all. Pre-produced frames can be made especially for the corners (90°). The corners are then welded together in mitre. In addition, the Hybrid gasket is highly resistant to UV, water and acids.

We recommend our SNCu-C50 conductive fabric for these EMI gaskets. A Tin on Copper fabric. The application of Tin gives excellent galvanic compatibility with the most common sheet metal materials.
